Some Places to Visit

The distillery, founded in 1784, offers an exciting and educational tour through the distilling process, the maturation process, and the bottling. The staff are always friendly and welcoming to visitors from all over the globe, plus you get to sample your very own choice of the famous Bushmills whiskey at the end!

Dunluce Castle.

The castle is a famous destination, set hanging onto the cliff edge, the castle ruins offer amazing backdrops and an intriguing story. The visitor’s centre offers interactive tours and historical facts about the castle. It is also famously known as inspiration for C.S. Lewis’ Cair Paravel in Narnia.

Rathlin Island.

Rathlin is a very small, rustic island only a short ferry ride off the coast of Ballycastle. It is a great place to ride bikes to the four corners of the islands, taking in all of the light houses and seeing the famous Puffin birds who call Rathlin their home.

Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge.

A narrow, high-up bridge that was originally constructed 350 years ago, connects the mainland to a tiny island which offers incredible views of Scotland, Rathlin Island, and the Causeway Coast.

Mussenden Temple.

This perfectly circular temple is situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking Downhill beach. It is architecturally a masterpiece and the views it offers are similarly stunning. There is also the manor house ruins that are next to it and they are filled with mystery and beauty.

Barry’s Amusements.

Situated in Portrush town centre, Barry’s offers fun for all the family. With a range of amusements, rides, games, and treats it is a great place for families to have a fun-filled day!

Ramore Restaurants.

The gem of Portrush, a cluster of different styled restaurants that offer fine dining, family-style, seafood, oriental, and takeaway. It is by far the most famous restaurant on the North Coast and well deserves its title. Try it and see!
